A ceremony marking the centenary of the Communist Youth League of China (the League) was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of May 10th. President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech.
As the ceremony was broadcast live online, Chen Jinhu, party chief of Changzhou, Hang Yong, head of the Publicity Department, Deputy Mayor Chen Zhiliang, youth representatives, members on the central or provincial League committees in Changzhou, and other outstanding League members watched it in the conference hall of the government.
After watching the ceremony, all the young participants are inspired by President Xi’s words. They stand ready to become role models of upholding lofty ideals and firm beliefs, take the lead in studying Marxist theory, and build the ideal of communism and a shared ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
As the president expects them to play an exemplary role, the participants say they will study hard, boldly engage in innovation, and strive for excellence, trying their best to become backbone personnel and advanced youths.
They will also set an example in acting in a good and virtuous manner and in observing a strict code of discipline, uphold public and personal morals, abide by disciplinary regulations and the law, and strictly fulfill their obligations as League members.
In carrying out the 532 development strategy of Changzhou, they will be both brave and adept in confronting challenges and tackling tough problems. As for the daily work, They will show dedication, remain committed to the people, and take a realistic, pragmatic and down-to-earth approach. They are willing to play a minor but forever effective role in their posts, contributing their own part to the development of our city.
