On November 25th, Angel Station, a mental health care center for medical staff, was officially launched, and the first group of volunteers received pre-service training.
This year, the Municipal Health Bureau collected 2,770 valid questionnaires from the city’s eight hospitals at or above level II for a survey on medical staff’s mental health and occupational stress. The results show that frontline medical staff is under great pressure.
In order to ease the pressure on frontline medical staff, the Municipal Health Bureau specially established the Angel Station, and set up a team of more than 70 volunteers, including 30 people licensed with state-level counselor qualifications.
The Angel Station is located on the 4th floor of the Municipal Health Bureau, which has rooms for counseling, relaxing, and venting, mainly opening to medical staff of hospitals under the administration of the bureau. Going forward, the station will offer psychological counseling for frontline medical staff, and the first group is expected to receive counseling within this December.
