At the end of 2024, thirty-four key projects across three categories—platforms, technology, and fund investment—were signed to be established in Changzhou Science and Education Town. Zhu Zhengqing, vice chairman of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee and director of the Science and Education Town Administration Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Among the signed projects, one platform project is a collaboration between Changzhou Science and Education Town and the Beijing Institute of Mechanical Engineering Automation Research (BIMIAR). They signed an agreement to jointly build the "National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Automation—Jiangsu Branch of Industrial Software." This center will leverage BIMIAR's research expertise, talent, and innovations to establish an industrial software platform covering R&D design, business management, production control, and operation and maintenance services, empowering enterprises’ digital transformation.
The 30 technology projects focus primarily on three key fields: new energy, synthetic biology, and artificial intelligence. Of these, 23 are led by talents with doctoral degrees or higher. Additionally, three investment fund projects were signed. By the end of 2024, Changzhou Science and Education Town will have reviewed and approved 28 direct investment fund projects, with 26 already funded.
In 2023, Changzhou Science and Education Town successfully attracted over 120 high-quality projects, closely aligning with the city's "1028" industrial system. Over 80 of these projects were introduced through technology-focused investment initiatives, and more than 40 were cultivated through public R&D institutions and other entities, effectively strengthening the sustainability and competitiveness of Changzhou's industrial development.
