On March 15, the Jinling Spirit: Innovation at its Core — 2025 Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition (Changzhou Station) officially opened at the Changzhou Art Museum. The event brought together artists from the Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Painting Institute and the city’s art community to explore the legacy and innovation of culture and art.
Zhu Bin, level I bureau rank official of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Jiang Pengju, deputy mayor of Changzhou, attended the opening ceremony.
Marking its 15th edition, the exhibition is a key part of the annual Golden Age of Prosperity series, reflecting the institute’s dedication to serving the public through art. The showcased works resonate with contemporary themes, featuring a rich diversity of subjects and distinct artistic styles. The collection includes stunning pieces that capture Jiangsu’s vibrant lifestyle, abundant culture, and picturesque landscapes under the Charming Jiangsu theme. It also highlights exquisite works depicting local landscapes, historic sites, and modern life from various regions.
With over 200 pieces on display, the exhibition underscores the artists’ sense of responsibility and mission in inheriting and promoting the New Jinling School of Painting. It reflects the guiding principle of innovation at the core and art mirroring contemporary eras.
During the event, the Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Painting Institute donated a selection of valuable books and documents, including the Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Painting Institute Collection: Selected Works of the New Jinling School of Painting, to the Changzhou Art Museum, Changzhou Artists Association, Changzhou University, and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology.
