Arbor Day (or Arbour; from the Latin arbor, meaning tree) is a holiday in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees. Arbor Day is celebrated in China on March 12 every year.
The 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) marks an important stage in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and in China’s ecological protection drive, and President Xi Jinping has stressed forestry development as a significant measure to fulfill these goals.
