On March 2, six Changzhou deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) departed for Nanjing, where they will join the Jiangsu delegation before heading to Beijing for the third session of the 14th NPC, which opens on March 5.
The six deputies include: Wang Jianfeng, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee; Dong Caiping, chairman and president of Zenith Steel Group; Liu Jingyu, chairwoman of CALB; Xu Yunfei, president of Jiangsu Jinfeng Cement Group; Zhang Daoheng, director of Changzhou Runtu Fruit and Vegetable Farmers’ Specialized Cooperative; and Li Chengxia, sample maker and chairwoman of the Trade Union at Changzhou Laosan Group.
Fueled by passion and dedication, these deputies carry the high hopes and deep trust of the people of Changzhou. In preparation for the session, they conducted extensive field investigations to better understand social conditions and gather public opinions, ensuring they are well-equipped to submit proposals, deliberate on reports, and contribute to legislative discussions in Beijing.
As a representative of industrial workers, Li Chengxia shared that she will focus on expanding the implementation of the eight-level vocational skill grading system, improving protections for workers in new forms of employment, and safeguarding workers' reproductive rights. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to protect and enhance workers' legitimate rights and career development opportunities, which will help cultivate a highly skilled industrial workforce and strengthen the nation's real economy.
Zhang Daoheng, a farmer by profession, reiterated his commitment to rural revitalization. He plans to bring two key proposals to Beijing: encouraging the utilization of idle rural properties and implementing protective measures to incentivize grain producers. These suggestions aim to boost rural vitality, increase farmers' incomes, and enhance national food security.
