It has recently been announced that the 2024 Annual List from the Mother Fund Research Center has been released, with the Changzhou Municipal Government Investment Fund ranked among the Top 30 Best "Patient Capital" Mother Funds of 2024, earning recognition for its achievements within the investment sector.
In recent years, Changzhou has actively contributed to cultivating new productive forces, strengthening key industry chains, and advancing the development of strategic sectors in the city. The city has focused on building a comprehensive fund matrix for the entire lifecycle of enterprise growth, from "seed—angel—VC—PE—Pre—IPO."
At the heart of this effort are mother funds like the Longcheng Sci-Tech Innovation Development Fund. Changzhou has effectively leveraged the role of mother funds as "long-term capital" and "patient capital" to guide investments. Last year, in collaboration with provincial-level mother funds, the city established the Jiangsu Changzhou New Energy Industry Special Mother Fund, with a total scale of 5 billion yuan. This initiative has attracted well-known investment institutions and industrial capital, including State Power Investment Corporation (SGCC) and SummitView Capital. Together, they have established 52 industry-specific sub-funds in Changzhou. Through market-oriented methods, such as direct equity investment from both mother and sub-funds, the city has directed financial resources into tech enterprises and sci-tech industry clusters, accelerating the integration of finance, technology, and industry. To date, the city's mother and sub-funds have invested in over 470 projects, supporting more than 200 projects for IPOs, refinancing, and more.
Looking ahead, the Changzhou Municipal Government Investment Fund will continue to be an important partner for "hard technology" projects, supporting more capital to take on the role of "long-term capital" and "patient capital." The fund aims to inject equity capital into seed-stage and early-stage tech enterprises, fostering innovation and growth in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are driven by independent R&D and possess core technologies. This will further drive the development of Changzhou's strategic and emerging industries.
