On November 18th, the municipal government received a notice co-issued by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the China International Friendship Cities Association that Changzhou has been honored the International Friendship Cities Exchange & Cooperation Award at the China International Friendship Cities Conference 2014 for its remarkable achievements in the work of international friendship cities during 2012 and 2013.
As the main form of international exchanges for Chinese cities, friendship cities have been playing an increasingly important role in promoting local economic and social development. Changzhou always considers international friendship cities as a key platform for foreign exchanges. Up to now, approved by the CPAFFC, Changzhou has established friendship-city relations with 37 cities in 19 countries around the five continents, the number of which ranks at the forefront in Jiangsu Province.
To Changzhou, friendship cities are the bridge to the world; while to friendship cities, Changzhou is a window of China. Going forward, Changzhou will enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation with the friendship cities so that the outcome can better serve the city’s economic and social progress.
